Summer Sandals

W6306.jpgYes, we are swimming in the shallow end of the pool today. Those who prefer the deep end should swim elsewhere.

Two weeks ago I purchased a pair of Børn sandals like the pair pictured. Usually I wear clunkier sandals. I’ve been partial to Tevas, for instance, and other sandals of the walking/hiking sort, thinking they have the corner on cool comfort. But hiking sandals don’t look all that great with a dress on Sunday, do they? And I have long feet—size 9, if you must know—and there’s nothing like a clunky shoe to emphasis the size of my feet.

So I bought these sandals on the recommendation of oldest daughter, who has a black pair, and size 9 feet, too. She works as a server, so she is running on her feet for 8-10 hours a day for her job, and she wears these every day. She’s never had a pair of sandals so easy on the feet, she says.

My verdict? Oldest daughter is right. This is one pair of comfortable sandals! And I don’t hate it that they don’t add bulk to my feet or that they look downright delicately dressy when worn with a dress.

I’m sold, and I think I might like a pair in this style, too. In black.

I'm Back

ANI022.jpg…but you probably didn’t even know I was gone, did you?

Once again, I spent a weekend without an internet connection, but posting has been sporadic here lately, so you probably didn’t even notice anything different.

I did not waste the downtime. I shopped for a new fridge, primed a deck, washed and waxed the car, cleaned a bookshelf, whipped up four kitchen towels from an old tablecloth, read a book, and listened to What is the Gospel? by Don Carson, taking some notes which I will post here either tonight or tomorrow.

I’ll post the Sunday hymn later, too, but right now there is a chair on the deck with my name on it.

I Have Not Died

but it sure felt like it. I was without internet connection from Saturday afternoon until a few minutes ago. (Excuse me while I do my happy dance.)

In my spare time I composed a post on the imputation of Christ’s righteousness, which I will post as soon as I can. I missed yesterday’s hymn, but we’ll just have to pick that up where we left off next Sunday, assuming of course, I still have a connection then.
