Ten Things Canadians Do Well
Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 10:29AM
A little list gleaned by searching for “Canadians are good at” in Google to see what would come up.
- Hockey. That’s the great thing about the internet: I learn something new every day.
- Development work. All because of their “listening and learning” skills. Yep, Canadians have mastered their kindergarten curriculum like no other country in the developed world.
- Spelling. I suppose that’s because Canadians know how to spell words like colour and licence (n.) correctly.
- Sticking their noses into American affairs. Words of wisdom from Jeff “Go home tourists & foreigners”, who is, undoubtedly, American.
- Slaughtering helpless baby seals. Also from Jeff “Go home tourists & foreigners”. Lovely man, it seems, with consistent standards to boot.
- Being American icons, “or at least movers and shakers.” No wonder Jeff wants them to go home.
- E-government online services. I’ve used them myself and I’d agree. Canadians are good at everything bureaucratic, perhaps because they’re also good at
- Innovation. Innovation is the Canadian heritage. (Is that statement oxymoronic?)
- Stuff. And this list proves it.

Hey! Funny. I think Canada gave us Joni Mitchell and Neil Young too right? I always liked their music. Just out of curiosity, did you happen to read the whole article on Hockey? Ummm...if not you might want to. I have to confess that I have always been intrigued with the idea of living in Canada, mostly because of the wilderness.
Oops. I thought I'd read it. . I must have been skimming and skipping all the words I didn't understand.:) Sorry about that.
Thanks for watching out for me. I've replaced that article with something more...ahem...appropriate.
Yep, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young....
All the Canadian teachers I have had have been very good at defining things. Terms, concepts and the like. They seem to have a very structured, reasoned approach. I like it.
